Aftercare Instructions
*Your aftercare of your tattoo
will greatly determine the way your tattoo will look once it is fully healed.
Wear your bandage for around 1 hour, then remove the bandage.
ALWAYS Wash your hands thoroughly before caring for your tattoo.
Gently wash your new tattoo thoroughly with DIAL ANTIBACTERIAL SOAP.
Gently pat your tattoo dry with a fresh paper towel. DO NOT RUB BACK AND FOURTH.
Apply a very thin layer of VITAMIN A&D ointment to your tattoo a few minutes after washing and drying your tattoo. Pat off any excess A&D ointment, there should be NO build up of ointment on your tattoo.
You MUST wash your new tattoo 2 to 3 times daily, as directed above and re-apply A&D ointment as needed.
DO NOT PICK SCABS OR DRY AREAS that form on your tattoo. This WILL cause your tattoo to bleed and will pull ink out of your skin, damaging your tattoo. Doing so is not sanitary or safe for your tattoo.
AVOID harsh body-wash or scrubs, lotions, or any products that have fragrances.
Do not swim in lakes, ocean, pools, or enter a hot tub for at least 2 weeks.
AVOID CHLORINE.
AVOID direct sun exposure.
After your tattoo is FULLY HEALED use a decent SPF sunscreen when spending long periods of time in the sun. Re-apply Often. Doing this will ensure the longevity and quality of your tattoo. NEVER put sunscreen on a tattoo during the healing process.
Wear loose clothing over your tattoo while it heals to avoid any friction that may affect the healing process.
If you experience Excessive swelling or redness, drainage, fever, consult a physician.
Failure to follow proper healing protocol can put you at risk of infection. Infections can look red, swollen, blisters with pus and or crust, skin warm to the touch, rash, fever. Seek medical attention of any of these symptoms occur.
